Hand Towel – Asda (In store)
Cause it’s cheaper at Asda and it will last you for 3 years or more.
Drain tray - Asda (in store)
In case you visit pound shop before going to Asda and you come across drain tray there, it’s better to buy it there (cheaper) than in Asda. The reason why I didn’t include pound shop is because, availability varies.
Cheese grater - Asda
Oven gloves- pound shop
Colander- pound shop
Measuring Jug – pound stretcher (0.69p)
Baking tray (glass/metal)- pound stretcher
Dish wash -
Iceland - 2 for £1.00
Pound shop- 2 for £1
If you come across where you can get it cheaper (apart from these stores, I don’t think any) you should get it from there. And sometimes these stores might also not have it. 2 is enough for you for the academic year!
Dish sponge - Pound shop - £1.00
Definitely from pound shop. You get a bunch of them for a price of one pound. Could even be used for the next academic term.
Mug cup
Pound shops - 4 for 1 pound
This are the only stores you will get 4 mug cups for a pound.
Glass cups
Pound shops – 1 for 50p (big) - small 4 for £1
Morrison – 1 for 50p
Asda also sell it for 1 for 50p (a big one)
Blender
Argos - £11.99

Cookworks 1.5L Blender - White
by Cookworks 687/6977
Argos blender are very good, don’t worry about getting insurance on it. It’s not like you will be using it every day, so it will last longer therefore insurance is not needed.
Plates (dinner set)
White: 12 sets (4 dinner plate,4 side plates and 4 bowls)

ASDA (only in store) - £7.00
ARGOS - £7.00

Simple Value 12 Piece Porcelain Dinner Set - White
by Simple Value by Argos
801/3037
WILKOS - £7

Wilko Functional Dinner Set White
0263286
Colored dinner sets are from £12.00 from all three stores
If you prefer white, any of these stores are good, they all sell for £7 so it doesn’t matter where you get it from. As for coloured plates, price varies. Starting price of 12.00 in all stores. I adviced to get 4 sets because, one might break due to human error (anything can happen, in my first year on of my plate broke and 2 of my glass cups also broke), you might want to get sets because you will also be able to use them for the rest of your university years.
PS: this is just an opinion, if you think it’s too much get pieces instead.
Saucepans (Non-sticky is highly recommended)

861/3499
With frying pan - frying pan(24cm) & milk pan (14cm)- £23.99

HOME 5 Piece Stainless Steel Pan Set
by HOME by Argos
861/1422
Three sauce pans cause it’s a cheap deal at this price and it’s long lasting therefore can be used for a long time.
PS: this is just an opinion, if you won’t be needing this sets ‘Do not buy them’. An alternative to sauce pans is a microwave bowl (can be used to cook food like rice, cous cous etc)
You might see Wilko have a cheaper deal compare to Argos but it's the quality that differs. Wilko sauce pans are of poor qualities, it won't last you for the rest of first year not to talk of 3 years. My friend bought her sauce pans pan from Wilko, she couldn't use it(handle came off on first use, non sticky isn't really non-sticky). But then you know what's right for you, you can get it from wherever you please.

Food container
Wilkos – (in store) - £3.00

Definitely from Wilkos, it much cheaper than other stores.
If it’s out of stock at Wilkos, get from pound stretcher (same item at a price of £4)
Reasons why I include products in set is because, in the span of three years things might break therefore if one broke you won’t have to worry about buying new one. Also, after uni, if these things are still alright you could continue using them. So why not, buy these materials and you won’t regret following this list.
I’ve tried my best to include petty things you might need, but when you go for your shopping you’ll see things you need and it’s not on the list.
When getting products from Asda, get in store (more things are available in stores compared to online)
When getting products from Wilko, store is better too however, if you can’t find in store you can check online.
When getting products from Pound stretcher go to their store (I don’t think they do delivery)
When getting products from Argos, because of high demand for product things might run out of stock quickly so you might want to pay as soon as you add items to basket and get them delivered to your student house on your move-in day (very easy, less things to pack too) or if your guardian have a car you could go for collection instead.
Getting products when you get to your accommodation is very easy compared to buying from home, this is because you pack less things. And going out to buy your things also gives you the opportunity to get to know the city (PS: make sure your phone is well charged and you have data, just in case you get lost)
If you need any university advice, help or anything don't hesitate to contact. University life can be very stressful at times, it's good to have someone you could talk to.
