University Checklist

This list is just a brief idea of things you would need for university life, there are lots of things you might want (personally) and isn't inclueded on the list.

Luggage

 

Kitchen

  • Glass cup

  • Baking Tray

  • Colander

  • Measuring Jug

  • Containers for food storage (Raw food and Fridge food)

  • Kettle” (If there’s none in your flat, can be negotiated with flat mate)

  • Blender (Depending on what type of food you'll be making or if you need it for fruits/vegetables)

  • Cutting board

  • Knife

  • Hand Towels^

  • Drain tray for washed plate”

  • Dish wash^

  • Dish sponge^

Bathroom/ Toilet

  • Bathmat”

  • Hand wash (can either be in your room (if it comes with basin) or can be negotiated with flat mates)

  • Toilet paper (Can be negotiated with flat mates, )

  • Hand towel (have yours but can also be put in the towel hang in the toilet for sharing purpose)

  • Toilet wash (not compulsory if there’s cleaner every week)

  • Toiletries

 

Bedroom

  • Pillow

  • Duvet

  • Mattress topper/ mattress protector (one of either is highly advised. This protect your mattress from spill or stain. This also helps keep the mattress clean for when you will need to move out, so you won’t have to pay fee for damage to the mattress.

  • Blanket (for when it’s too hot for duvet)

  • Bed spread

  • Pillow case

  • Duvet sheet

  • Bath Towel

  • Robe (optional)

  • Clothes*

  • Clothes hanger

  • Coat hanger

  • Small first aid kit

  • Shoes *

  • Bags *

  • Jackets *

  • Jewelleries *

  • Your hair materials (dryer, hair wash …)

  • Laundry bag/basket

  • Your make-up (if you use any)

University

  • Laptop

  • USB/Flash drive

  • Printer (Before buying check if printing at University is cheaper)

“ - Can be negotiated with your flat mate, this is because when each flat mate brings one of their own the kitchen will be clustered. However, one person can bring one item then you share between everyone, someone else could bring another item then you share.


*-You do not have to worry about buying new clothes especially when your source of finance is until when student loan is paid. You can shop during academic term when you have the money for wardrobe changing.
